Magna Carta Pennant, from Trumps Green WI



Designed and Made by members of TGWI - Jean Smith and Pauline Oldridge.
1. Jean and Pauline had the design ideas and created the finished Pennant!
2. February 2014. The design was agreed on the Runnymede icons theme:-
  • Lutyens designed Pavilions marking the official entrance to Runnymede Meadows and
  • b) The Commonwealth Air Forces Memorial, Oak leaves, River Thames and Heraldic shields belonging to two of the Magna Carta Barons - Richard de Percy and Saha de Quincy, Earl of Winchester. 
3. Spring 2014. Materials were purchased and work divided equally between Jean Smith and Pauline Oldridge
4. October 2014. Meeting at Egham Museum with seven other Community Groups to share the progress.

5. Completed in January 2015 and displayed at the February WI meeting with the Magna Carta talk by Dr.Matthew Smith.
The Pennants were displayed at the Magna Carta Exhibition, held in June 2015 at the United Church and were part of the Procession in Egham on June 13, Magna Carta Day.
